Description
The Indian Equity Foundation and the Alberta Indian Investment
Corporation are offering an award each year to First Nation
students undertaking post-secondary studies.
The award is based upon excellence in a program of studies
at the university level. The maximum amount of the award is
$1,000.00 per year.
Purpose
The purpose of the award is to recognize excellence and achievement
by a Treaty First Nations person, and to encourage and assist
Treaty First Nations people in the pursuit of post-secondary
education studies in one/both of the following areas: Law
and/or Political Science.
Eligibility
Applicant must be a First Nations person who is resident of
Alberta, and is currently taking undergraduate or graduate
studies.
Applicants for the Sam Bull Memorial Scholarship must:
- provide proof of full-time enrollment in a post-secondary
institution in a program of Law and/or Political Science;
- be attending a college or university
- maintain a full course work load leading to a recognized
degree or diploma;
- provide a statement of personal/academic goals as they
relate to First Nation community development.
The Alberta Indian Investment Corporation reserves
the right to change or terminate this scholarship at its own
discretion.
